UPDATE: The Globe reports the cause was an unattended candle.
Boston firefighters responded around 10:05 p.m. to a fire in a first-floor apartment at 560 Centre St.
Although the fire was confined to that apartment, commanders ordered three alarms to bring in additional firefighters for evacuating residents, the Boston Fire Department reports.
The fire was knocked down around 10:30 p.m. One resident was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The Red Cross and city officials were on the way to the building, part of the Pondview Apartments, to help 15 displaced residents find places to stay.
Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire.

Yikes! Any word on if anyone was permanently displaced? Or if donations are needed?

The ramp on the side facing the photo (in combination with the opposite slant of the street and the retaining wall) makes it look weird, as your brain expects a level line there.
The photo is also taken from a slightly tilted angle, making things worse.
