Who needs a gym when you've got the Red Line?

Guy doing lunges on the Red Line

Matt snapped this guy doing lunges on a Red Line train today; reports he was doing a series of them.

Hmm, he looks a bit like this guy doing crunches at Back Bay on the Orange Line a couple years ago.

and some people have injuries or conditions that might mean they have to do odd things.

Why is it OK to make the T all that much worse by the threat of some guy photographing you in your T-riding misery and posting it online.

Um, it's called being out in public? You think people have a right to privacy when riding on the T? Do you know how many surveillance cameras you and everyone else walked by to get onto that train?

was on my last flight to Florida doing yoga in front of the planes restroom door.

I used to see that guy walking around the South Station CR platforms all the time. I started taking an earlier train, so I don't know if he still walks around.

I like how bored she looks. Especially with this guy showing off his amazing physique.

Can't we just live our lives without someone photographing every weird thing we do and posting it and then reposting it?
Get a clue, Matt!

Thats the Red Line version of the pre breakdown Whip/Nae Nae.

Actually he is getting ready to sprint to the one bus they provide after the red line breaks down. He's like "Imma get there first bitches!"

Who hasn't looked at the hand rails in an empty train and thought "heck yeah those would be good for doing a few pull ups".

but usually it's college athletes on the B line, with their friends, laughing.

Tons of people out there can't make time in their day to get off their butt and get some exercise in. Good for him for finding a way to spend his otherwise unproductive MBTA time and squeeze in a bit more workout time.

The guy who took the photo is a creeper, in my opinion.

He is willing his particular Red Line trainset forward.

Used to see this guy on my way home from work. When he gets off the train he takes his shirt off and runs home. Seen him do it in the rain, snow, cold weather and warm weather.

I always found train surfing to be a fun activity on a empty train. You never know when the train is going to come to an abrupt stop and throw you down.

Listen to the Inception soundtrack while you do it. Makes it that much more #badass.

He is stretching so when he and the rest of the passengers have to push the train he won't throw out his back.

Well, not so much this trip. His Lycra yoga pants or bicycling pants/shorts must be in the wash, so aren't working for him. USPS t-shirt isn't showing off his abs either.

Is that a US Postal t-shirt he's wearing?

That girl in the back with the blue coat is hilarious. Is she trying not to check him out.

I read on the train. I walk home from the station to ensure I get some exercise. It's about making use of dead time. As long as he isn't doing this on a full train or into someone's backside, fair play to him.

to the person in front of him.

So now the holier than thou UHub is in the business of mocking mentally challenged people. Interesting.

What about that picture leads you to believe that the man is mentally challenged.

I guess it takes one to know one.

I've known him and his mother for about 15 years. Not exactly a leap.

I'm surprised how many people here are giving this guy a pass. "Making the best of down time", "it's good to get some exercise", etc. There is such a thing as decorum in public and this guy crosses the line big time. I put him in the same category with people clipping their toenails on the T and people eating large, pungent meals on the T as if they are in the privacy of their home.

If he is indeed mentally ill I retract my statement and hope he finds help. But my statement stands for the toenail clippers and eaters.

Compared to those who eat on the T, he's making less of an impact on his fellow riders, since there is no mess left behind.

Heck, outside of rush hours I would take 3 of these guys on the train compared to a new peeve of mine- people going old school and treating their smart phones like the boom boxes of the 1980s. Nobody needs to hear your music.

I totally agree with you on the music.

But there's nothing wrong with eating on the T if you don't make a mess and the food doesn't smell. I often eat a granola bar or a banana.

Looks like a new and (dubiously) improved version of manspreading to me.
