This must've been taken from way back in the Google Street View archives.

There's a work crew working in a trench in the background. Not easily visible unless you open the "see it larger" version.

Apparently this is the same construction company that built Suffolk Downs and whose steam shovel (and perhaps the exact same truck) was previously featured on UHub.

The road does not bend that way either. It isn't Semont, nor St. Mark's Road either. The street in the picture is too short for those and the housing placement is wrong on the corner.

The neighborhood where a whole couple blocks burned down in the late 70's Early 80's in north Dorchester. Can't remember the street names, but I think it was up more toward Andrew station on Dot Ave. I haven't lived over there in a while, so I might be confused.

Thanks for playing folks! This is Hubbard Road taken from Savin Hill Avenue on November 16, 1927. Here's a link to the original uncropped photo with the caption: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cityofbostonarchives...

Why nobody could get this is that these houses are all gone. The houses on the right at now the right hand lane of the northbound expressway across from Savin Hill Station. The street is now known as Hubbardston Street.

Thanks John. Standing at Savin Hill Station, I often thought those houses up there looked like only one side of a street.
Here is a map of Hubbard Rd in 1933. Zoom in to see the houses now gone.

If you go back to 1910 it looks like it was called Donkin Terrace. See also Rockdale St which looks like and idea that never happened.
