GPS devices from earlier arrests led police right to last night's Savin Hill armed-robbery suspects
UPDATE: The Herald reports the third guy had a GPS bracelet on, too.
Two of the three men arrested on charges they robbed a Savin Hill market at gunpoint last night were wearing GPS ankle bracelets as a condition of their bail on earlier gun-related arrests, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
One of the three, Andronique Dossantos, 18 (seen at right), was scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow on the armed-robbery charge for which he was arrested last October, the DA's office says, adding, "It seems likely he will appear," since his bail on the October case was revoked today.
When arrested last night after the robbery at the Pleasant View market at Pleasant Street and Savin Hill Avenue, Dossantos was wearing a GPS device ordered for him after he and a Needham teen allegedly robbed a man of what turned out to be a salad outside the Savin Hill T stop.
Back in October, Dossantos was arrested outside the Pleasant View market. In addition to the bracelet, he had bail set then at $2,500 - the DA's office had asked for $50,000.
Jose Morales, 21, one of Dossantos's alleged accomplices last night, was also wearing a GPS device, a condition of his bail on a May, 2015 gun arrest, the DA's office reports. At the time of that arrest, prosecutors asked for $15,000 bail; a judge set bail at $1,500.
Last night, police used the GPS signals from at least one of the two men to help track them to a Roach Street apartment, where they were arrested after a standoff.
At their arraignment today, Dorchester Municipal Court Judge Serge Georges set bail at $100,000 for Morales and Dossantos and agreed to revoke their earlier bail.
Georges set bail at $50,000 for the third suspect, Kallahn Winbush, 18, of Cambridge, the DA's office says.
Innocent, etc.

MA Sooper strict laws toughest in the national blah blah
So.... about those mandatory minimums for illegal possession of a firearm and the Bartley Fox laws.
Anyone?
Hello?
Legislature?
Judges?
Hello?
For piss sake the same offenders keep at it even wearing GPS bracelets. You've FAILED.
DO YOUR JOB!
Have they been tried or convicted yet?
There is no mandatory minimum when you haven't been tried or sentenced.
You can't be locked away solely because you were arrested and accused unless you are a flight risk OR there is a separate dangerousness hearing.
The purpose and meaning of bail
Please note that, due to their stupidity/antics, bail was set very high this time.
The system is responding - just not the way you would like it to. At least, the way you would like it to unless you were fingered for something that you didn't do.
At least, the way you would
Nice quip there Swirly, but most people reading here are not habitual, repeat firearms offenders so I don't think that really applies.
My son is the one being
My son is the one being charged here and he has no record of being an "armed robber" or even carrying fire arms! Second he was out on bail because a kid made a fake incident report against him and when he went to trial that was proven in court that the alleged charges put against him were a lie. So just because u live in the area where something happens doesnt mean ur guilty of doing it. He was 1 among 5 other people, that were wearing gps bracelts that went off at the same time in that area!!!. The police never checked anyone else but came to my home only. Along with the description of " 3 african american males" when my son is white/pr and didnt fit the clothing description of the robbers. So please people know ur facts before u just judge someone without the proper knowledge! along with the police not even HAVING a search warrant to come into my home! They didnt even stop at the store to find out what even happened just straight to my home? Thats discriminating...
They hadn't been tried yet, chief.
Tough to lock 'em up and throw away the key when the trial wasn't scheduled until tomorrow. But don't let little details like that interrupt your soapbox rant.
Not trial
Sorry for being unclear. It's one of those periodic hearings where lawyers hash out pre-trial stuff.
Hello?!
They thought it meant Go Play Somewhereelse.
Please go back to the 1980s
Please go back to the 1980s where ignorant fools thought mandatory minimums were a good thing. Thanks.
Well isn't he just somebody's
Well isn't he just somebody's little angel.
Maybe we need a GPS Miranda law
These fools are too dense to understand that the GPS will finger them as the perp. Maybe they should get a class to explain that when they are shackling the thing on.
Why?
It's more entertaining this way
Like fish in a barrel...
Like fish in a barrel...
sooo
You could also interpret this to mean that GPS devices might be a really effective way to monitor people who are out on Bail awaiting trial.
GPS bracelets
well uh, those seem to be working better than one would think
Did someone hit these two with a stupid stick?
These two morons give a bad name to morons.
Can We Stop The robberies
I want the people to stop robbing the banks with weapons because this is ridiculous and it 2016
Is this a real comment, or
Is this a real comment, or some kind of humor I'm not clued in on.
At the time of that arrest,
So should it be any surprise these guys got caught trying the same stuff they previously were arrested for. Idiotic judges who flaunt the prosecution's recommendations are a huge part of the problem.
He needs help
When you have no guidance and you struggle to fit in, you end up doing the wrong things. Dossantos is not a bad kid, just had a wrong turn after the death of his mom. I know that's not an excuse but I see first hand this boys cries for help. His moms death anniversary is next week. He is still in mourning and dont know how to deal with it. Its hard work trying to help someone who not ready for it. I'm going to pray for him and hope he gets the help. As for the other 2, I don't know them and can't say nothing.
