Is Fung Wah now using unmarked charters?

There are dozens of companies using unmarked buses for charters, based around the New York City area. The law requires that the owner's company name, and its US DOT motor carrier number, be painted on the side of the bus, but the letters only have to be a couple of inches high. (In this photo, that info is just to the right of the front tire, much too small to be legible at this resolution.) Since I'm a tour guide, I do a lot of work with charter bus companies from all over the US and Canada. These unmarked buses out of New York are absolutely the worst to deal with. I suspect that many of them are even worse than the late Fung Wah was, in terms of their maintenance. And yes, many of them do have Asian drivers, and many of those don't speak English.

We have heard that this operation (with unmarked white buses, operating from an alley somewhere back behind Macys) is indeed connected to ex-Fung Wah.

Seems to be brisk traffic going on with those.

Every mode of transportation except for single-occupancy vehicles is crumbling at the seams. And just in time for the critical need to drastically reduce emissions in some small hope for preventing the end of humankind.

but look on the bright side!

Time for some regulations on required semi automatic fire suppression systems on buses, specifically in the engine compartment. The required portable fire extinguisher seems to be good enough for anything else. This seems too frequent. Although cars bursting into flames probably aren't as dramatic and don't make the news.

Owner or Operator info must be displayed on the bus with its Fed numbers.

Yeah, I know it's an "unmarked charter". But I enjoyed Farewell Fung Wah.

The last one to go up was a MegaSuck with a NYT travel reporter aboard.
