The signage on the car suggests what eventually was last seen as the "A" branch.

Newton HIghlands - I'd say that's what I'd call the Newton Corner area today, as opposed to the Newton Highlands neighborhood and stop along the D branch.

Lake Street - it would pass Lake St on Washington, at Oak Square.

Beacon Street - not that it ran on Beacon, but that it ran to Beacon...

...joining the Subway at Kenmore?

So... the particular location? Oak Square car barn?

There's still a connector along Chestnut Hill Avenue that allows Green Line trains to switch between the C and D lines and the B line. So it's possible that a train could go from Watertown to Reservoir without going all the way inbound to the Kenmore or points East to turn around.
