Never park in front of 350 Boylston St. in the Back Bay on a rainy day

New commenting turned off as we begin the Great UHub Migration. Back later today.
Steaming car on Boylston Street in the Back Bay

Because there's a steam-belching manhole there and inevitably somebody will take a look at your car, become convinced it's about to burst into flames and call 911, which will bring the Fire Department, which will check, see that it is, in fact, just the manhole, and then depart - until somebody else calls 911.

Wait, a police car in a legitimate spot?!

Not a police car... just a run of the mill Crown Vic.

Its hard to see in this photo, but there may be a tiny antenna on the rear of the roof, like many unmarked police cruisers have around here...

Here's a closeup:

Antenna on a car

Meaning: cop car.

I have seen very few of these that aren't cop cars.

Guess you've never seen a taxi in Boston.

Unlike certain neighboring communities (well, hello there, Brookline), Boston made the local cab companies swap out their Crown Vics for newer cars - mostly Camrys, from the look of things.

Actually it was. I dropped someone off right behind it.

That's not a legal parking spot.

Once had a townhouse neighbor call FD bc steam was coming out our dryer vent. We were home, and utterly confused when FD started knocking on our back window.
