Associated Press reports former governor William Weld has agreed to run for vice president on the Libertarian ticket with fellow former governor Gary Johnson.
No pandering, no hate among Democrats? Really? Democrats don't have their far left crazies?
I hold many liberal views, but have always, on a personal level, gotten along better with self-described conservatives vs self-described 'progressives', many of whom most definitely hate and have unpleasant, smug attitudes that don't match their alleged love for humanity.
But the topic of conversation is Bill Weld. Former Republican Governor of Massachusetts.
Your need to bring the subject of Democrats into this thread is like a four year old getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar, then pointing to his sister and shouting "but she did it too".
I wasnt a fan of Weld, but I dont think he would have a tea party Lt governor the way Baker does. While both were very anti public transit/pro highway, Baker is even more slanted towards big business interests, and Weld was more interested and engaged in environmental issues (like cleaning of Charles river). Baker is all out for reducing environmental regulations and anything else that helps big business. Baker is more like Mitt Romney or Trump, he doesn't care one way or the other on social issues, he will go with what polls well, but helping big business is what he's really into, a true Ivy league MBA man.
If ever there was a year that a 3rd party or independent candidate could win the White House, this is it. The nominees of both major parties have high unfavorable ratings.
With Mary Matalin becoming a Libertarian and then Weld joining the ticket I went out to Gary Johnson's site yesterday. An accomplished reasonable man with the same for VP. I'm not throwing my vote in the trash voting for Donald or Hillary. Until someone convinces me otherwise, I'm voting Libertarian in November.
Comments
By default,
this is just the ticket (pun intended).
No more embarrassing than anything else that we'll see in the 2016 national elections.
Mmmmmmm.....Sounds kind of interesting!!
Let's see what comes of it!
Although isn't it kind of late in the game, at this point?
The GOP of Bill Weld has long since died.
A Rockefeller Republican whose party was eaten by Hate Radio, non-Christ-following "evangelical Christians" and uneducated people
No they didn't
They have been reincarnated as libertarians.
In order for something to be reincarnated it has to die first
So your comment makes no sense.
Ok
It died. But now it's not dead.
And the Democrats are something to write home about?

I know this may be hard for you to understand

You were responding to my previous post
Did I hit a raw nerve?
I have no clue what that means
What previous comment?
Charlie Baker?
For better and worse, I think our current governor continues the tradition of the "Bill Weld GOP".
Baker is more like MItt or Trump

Please...
...go back under your bridge troll. You have nothing of value to offer other than one-sided criticisms. You are a cancer on this site.
Great idea for Weld!
After all, everybody needs a hobby.
3rd party

My vote is finally decided

He must be bored.
