Ashmont Cleaners
The tailor at Ashmont Cleaners on Centre did a great job for me on a suit I had to have altered a couple of months ago. Wasn't the cheapest price, but you know what they say...Good tailors aren't cheap, and cheap tailors aren't good.
Columbus Cleaners on Columbus
Columbus Cleaners on Columbus Ave. has a part time tailor who is excellent. He works 2 days a week at the cleaners, other days for high end boutiques.

Dino at Columbus Cleaners is an 'old-world' tailor having been a tailor since his youth. He's there Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9-5. He's quite popular so expect about a 2 week turnaround time.

In the past month, I have brought three suits and four sets of pants to Sofia's on Tremont St. in Mission Hill. She is a beautiful person, and her work is some of the best that I have seen in Boston!

I think she mostly does dresses - but she also might know somebody in the area if she can't help you. Wonderful woman - moderately priced.
Rodolfo's Tailoring
In Copley Place. Probably more Back Bay than South End, but he's well worth it, in my opinion. I've had pants and jackets done there, and friends have had suits done. He's excellent.
Brighton Laundry & Dry Cleaners
They are open from 7am-10pm 7 days a week. The seamstresses that work there are amazing and work late hours. I go there for all my dry cleaning and alterations even though I live in South Boston
Centre Tailor
Centre Tailor in Hyde Square, JP, is great. They've done several suits and many more pairs of pants for me, all perfectly, and pretty cheap, too. ($40 for hemming sleeves and pant legs on a suit).
