What difference does it make?
What difference does it make? People have been getting killed on the doorstep of the Mattapan and Lower Roxbury stations for years now.
I live in the South End; I'm used to the occasional shooting.
It is still surprising to me to hear of gunplay within steps of a police station.

I dont live in the South End any more, I live in Dorchester. Gunfire is all too common in both neighborhoods. But this location has on one side of the street a police station. On the other side of the street, a large public housing project, with alleged gang activity. And a couple of blocks away, another housing project with alleged gang activity.
And if I have the location correct, the shooting occured on the side of the station with no first floor windows, with a brick wall presenting to the street.
Shooting have occurred very close to the B3 station in Mattapan too.
Sadly, this doesn't surprise me at all.
I'm no criminal, but I'm thinking, if one has
to shoot someone, maybe do it, oh, not right next to the police station? Just spit-ballin' here.
