I would still have me IT GUYS go over all computer connected devices in the car, regardless. Not to breed fear but terrorist are always trying to find away to infiltrate or systems.

It all depends whether this guy really compromised the on-board computer ala' USB or at least attempted to login. But yeah, likely a case of some pharma-induced episode than some nutjob jihadist

If you're going to get caught for something that will get you facing serious penalties, which I assume is what happens when you steal a cop car, then establish your crazy bonafides quickly and publicly.

"Police said it is unclear whether he will face charges."

Bravo alleged perpetrator. If I jacked a cruiser, the charges I would face would be crystal clear, what with my lack of insanity and all.

Like voicing displeasure at the leniency of the courts.

You'll get plenty of people to vouch that you're certifiable.

The US "insanity" defense is one of the most difficult - and stupid - definitions of insanity ever. Completely backward, century out of date legal approach.

The myth is that people get away with stuff. The reality is that batshit crazy people get warehoused in highly inappropriate settings.

At least back when I was taking forensic psych, the data showed that, on average, people found NGRI ended up being confined longer than if they'd been found guilty. And it's not always easy to get out even if you're sane.

They didn't really solve the problem. They haven't caught the person handing out the keys.
