Boston Police report arresting two Dorchester residents on charges they threatened a woman at gunpoint Friday night.
Police charge Timothy Hampton, 23, and Areitah Malcolm, 28, both of Dorchester, threatened to kill a Dorchester resident for unspecified reasons. Hampton, police say, was armed with a silver handgun, while Malcolm wielded "a distinctive pink colored firearm." Police said Malcolm and the victim knew each other.
They were arrested Saturday night in an apartment at 7 Topliff St. and changed with assault with a dangerous weapon, making threats and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Innocent, etc.

Let me ask the following obvious question
If the gun weren't pink, would using it to threaten a person for 'unspecified reasons' be less funny, more funny, or exactly as Not Funny as it is with the pink gun? Or would it only be less funny if the gun were a pink 'copy or duplicate' of an AR15?
Take A Joke
Please take a joke. Those GOAL meetings must have some levity, just a bit, perhaps?
What, you don't like pink AR15s? I though that was pretty funny.
Re: GOAL humor: I'll be sure to report back after my first meeting. Though that'll be a while. You can't just decide you're a gun nut one day. It takes some time for the paperwork to go through.

40 days maximum by MGL, but in reality up to a year if a PD comfortable with blatantly violating civil rights feels like it, because the AG doesn't feel like enforcing that letter of the law.
GOAL has a staff of something like 5 people. I don't think they have meetings beyond lobbying legislators and organizing rallies whenever Beacon Hill is cashing campaign checks from Michael Bloomberg.
Technically same day, actually
Had my interview and filed about half of my paperwork last week of June, submitted the rest of my letters and a signed range test form last Monday. Got a letter from the PD on Wednesday saying they won't let me have an unrestricted LTC but would let me have it with target shooting restriction. Emailed them Wednesday night consenting to limitations, get an email back Thursday morning saying they submitted it and will let me know when I can pick it up.

How long did it take to get an interview scheduled? Guessing it was a few weeks if not months.
Nice of you to go through a multi-month process and consent to additional requirements not authorized or mandated by MGLs for a no carry license to carry. You can enjoy a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that 93-94% of cities and towns in the commonwealth would have granted you an unrestricted license often without the non-statutory games.
If a city or town pulled these same games with additional requirements to register to vote or be granted a marriage license they'd be front and center in a federal court.
About a week

Warrant?
I can't believe they found the link pistol during a 'protective sweep' without a warrant. After all, it was surely in a safe or locked container, right?
