This would be a much more believable picture if it had included the license plate - conveniently cut off. Someone who wanted to stir up some shit could have done this to his own car, driven it up his street while having it photographed, and voila: a racial incident.
I would also imagine that in Needham, which has basically no crime, if someone were to drive down a street with signs saying, "kill, kill, kill," they would have been arrested immediately.

I was discussing some of the things that have been going down in regards to blatant racism after seeming legitimization of it via electing Trump with a friend, and he said that he wonders about the authenticity of some of the claims. I said that to some extent I agree, as some people just like to be assholes just to make others get all worked up and offended, and don't actually believe these things in their hearts. But I also added in that, as being two white dudes, it's pretty much part of our privilege to be able to question it, because we're not on the receiving end of it (to boot, this is one of my, if not my best friends, and he's Jewish). He agreed. When taken in that context, whether or not it's fake, the final question you have to ask yourself is whether or not it's an ok thing to do. I think the answer to that is definitively clear that it's not.
Shopping at The Barn

Tangentially related but - last night I was at The Barn in Newton, a family shoe store. I was the only customer at the time. Four or five sales guys, all white men, were standing around snickering while one (a younger guy) was counting off all the people he wants Trump to deport. All American citizens, btw. NATIVES OF THE USA. Mostly celebrities. I don't think they realized I had heard them. It was so depressing. Just the idea that this is some kind of "revenge" presidency that will result in a clean sweep to their satisfaction. I just left the shoes and walked out. I swear I don't think I ever want to walk back in there again.
