Where the trolleys still run in Roslindale

Jed Hresko took in the Bay State Model Railroad Museum's semi-annual open house in Roslindale yesterday. It's open today until 3 p.m. - admission is $5 for adults, free for kids - at 760 South St. in Roslindale Square.

And best of all...
You can meet Stevil!
Probably just a coincidence ...
But the scene Jed photographed is actually a bit reminiscent of the intersection of Roberts Street and Belgrade Avenue in Roslindale Square, where the Alexander the Great statue is now: That space, basically nestled into the blocks that support the Needham Line station, used to be a gas station. And it used to have a trolley line going past it.
Not a coincidence
This is posted in that area:
And yes, I did go say hi to Stevil.
Awesome!
Awesome!
Nice to see you
Thanks for coming by (and saying hello)!
Nice to see you too
I very much appreciate that we are friendly even though we often disagree. And thank you for your contributions to one of Roslindale's true hidden gems!
Sorry I missed you guys
I was there towards the end with Waquiot jr, who had his world rocked by all the trains. I was last there back in the 90s, and even though I had fond memories of the O scale Roslindale scene, the whole thing was amazing. Lots of time with the Os, and a lot of time with the HO scale layouts.
And of course afterwards the little guy made me go to Readville to watch the NEC go by. Go figure.
