Otherwise this might be something hard for the city to fix.
How long has it been flooded?

How long has it been flooded? We did after all go from snow on the ground to two consecutive days of at or near record temperatures.
So the complainant didn't take into consideration the possible damage to his or her daughter's bike before letting her ride through the flooded area?

Greenway flood

It has been flooded for about 3 or 4 weeks now. There was a few days in there that it was passable because the water level had dropped enough that you could get through but the standing water on the path has been there since the 15" snow fall.
In MassPorts defense. The path is at the water table level as any of the builders around this area will tell you. The only thing they can do it raise the path up which is a construction project. It's not a repair as some seem to think. I'm sure it is on someone budget list somewhere when they extra funds but Mass Port has a lot of projects going on so I wouldn't hold my breath for this long term solution being fixed in the next couple of years. It will dry out as soon as the water table drops again.
I get her point

I understand her point.. I do. Although, I question why the kids were going thru water more than an inch or two deep, and that's besides the point. But I do understand what she's saying.
But we've had like 18"+ of snow (if not more), then it turned warm and it all melted very fast. Not surprising that many low level areas without good drainage have flooded.
However... it begs to answer the question. when the rail line was converted to a bike path, didn't they put drainage in considering it's just one giant culvert?

This problem is been going on for years, the path floods every time it rains or snow melts, making impossible for kids to travel through since the water reaches over 20 inches in some areas, at this time of the year may not seem like a big deal, but during the summer it becomes a breeding ground for mosquitos!

My bike rides me fine through puddles. I thought kids loved puddles.
What have you and your kids done lately to cut down on global warming? Ask not ....
That "puddle" is, as people

That "puddle" is, as people mentioned, a foot or more deep in places, so pretty much no matter what you do you're going to get soaked going through it. Speaking from personal experience here.

you want to show empathy for the poor exploited children or ridicule their faces?
