By adamg on Tue, 02/28/2017 - 2:35pm
Some will be in Adams Park with pots, pans and ladles for a noisy protest "cacerolazo". Starts at 9 p.m.

I swear
I no longer recognize the neighborhood i grew up in. Where did all these odd folks come from.
Jamaica Plain
The people you are wondering about were all priced out of JP and moved to Roslindale. Their next stop will be Hyde Park.
Arch liberals
Did you not see the abandoned phone booth that someone knitted a sweater for? Roslindale is now a haven of arch liberals and hipsters. Honestly, JP is a bunch of square accountants compared to us. I consider myself to be quite liberal, but I sometimes feel like McCarthy around here. That said, that is why it is quirky around here, which I like. Bring on the custom bycicle parade!
How Grown up of them.
That should work.
you can't make this stuff up.
you can't make this stuff up.
banging pots and pans....
Banging pots and pans together at 9:00 pm on a Tuesday night within earshot of residential neighborhoods? Seems like a great way to get your message across. While I love m(and agree with) the fact that people are energized, I wish groups in Roslindale (and other areas) would put energy into actually bringing people together instead of,..well, having an ill-timed protest while banging pots and pans together.
Want to show someone an example of the solidarity and diversity of a neighborhood? Have a Roslindale Celebration on a Saturday at Fallon or Healy Field (during the day). Sorry but this comes off as nothing more than a temper tantrum. And Congress will not be listening - but neighbors will be - to pots and pans - at 9:00 pm. Why doesn't Ms. Cardon host this event at her house? I am sure her direct neighbors would be thrilled.
Banging pots and pans? Come on people, we can do better than this. This is where we are at? I give it 15 minutes before the first noise complaint comes in.
Eh, I live a block from there
I couldn't hear it, not really a big deal in my opinion.

LMFAO
I'm always up for a Simpsons' reference. This one is particularly hilarious. Thank you
Oh, great...
Nothing like the noise and banging pots and pans to gently guide one to the land of nod.
Do these folks understand that some people have to get up real early in the morning and thus hit the sack around that time?
Pot rally
-- a successful cacerolazo is disorienting to police forces attempting to control the protests --
The last thing you want is the police controlling a protest that has a potentially large amount of soup ladles.
Once again, I ask: Why can't we have puppet protests like the good old days? I bet a talented puppetmaker could make President Donald Trump's teeth wicked comically large.
The enemies of Salvador Allende are going to have some fond memories tonight. Nothing stuck it to a scuzbucket Marxist like a good old cacerolazo.
Did anyone do a pot rally joke yet? Oh wait, I did in the title. Like wow man.
Noise ordinance?
Most cities and towns have a noise ordinance on the books. No loud noise after a certain hour. I'm sure Boston has one.
If those people make a ruckus at that hour, it could also be considered disturbing the peace, which is an arrestable offense.
So
I'll just raise the volume on my TV so I can hear the speech.
