A perplexed citizen files a complaint about all the cones on Wareham Street off Albany in the South End and asks the city to come fetch 'em.
The city replies it can't - all those cones are needed to warn unwary pedestrians about "trip hazard from deteriorated and broken side walk."

I'm not familiar with the area, but through the power of google street view, I see that in fact as of October 2016 yes, cars are parked on that sidewalk. Despite the no parking signs.
Strange neighborhood. This side of the street looks to have been all loading docks at one time. Now the use looks to be changing a bit.

If a sidewalk is hollow and can't support a vehicle, putting out some cones would be an incredibly stupid way to keep vehicles off.

This will take time to repair. Even if the City has an on-call construction company for repair work, the extent of work needed here will require, at the very least, sketches from a civil engineer. Fastest time to get someone out there - a week, maybe?
