We know the way to San Jose, but they don't know anything about Boston

Dear San Jose,
There are no Southies in Southie (or anywhere else).
There aren't any Wahlbergs - or Wahlburgers - in Southie, either.
And Dorchester isn't south of Boston. It's in Boston.

New York Times only hurts itself when it tries to speak Boston English.

People from Southie don’t call themselves “Southies”. Or at least no born and bred people from Southie that I know do.
Now, if the headline was “Eat like a Dot Rat,” all would be forgiven.
Is everyone from Dorchester a dot rat or just some of them
Is everyone from Dorchester a dot rat or just some of them and if so which ones?
What makes a Bostonian a Bostonian?
The point is that there is a way to describe those who live where the Walhbergs grew up.
Dorchester
It's south of South Boston. Makes sense right?
Yes, but that's not what they wrote
Picky? You bet. But then again, my entire post on the topic is picky :-).
A good shtick they got going.
However, the families days of living "working-class" have been over for decades.
Just got back from San Jose
No one, and I mean no one gives two shits about the Wahlbergs or the latest attempt to make Mark look family friendly and not a moron with a history of racial violence against Asians.
Especially considering that San Jose and Silicon Valley is filled with Asians who would rather wait the twenty minutes it takes to get In-N-Out than give those morons any of their money.
What does Mark Wahlberg have to do?
What does Mark Wahlberg have to do to make amends and get a new start?
Do you think he feels the same way now that he did when he was throwing rocks or getting into fights in his teens and early 20s? I don;t know but this came up when he asks Deval Patrick for a pardon and at the time I felt like he hadn't made amends with his victims although he had donated a lot of money so kids could attend summer camp in Boston.
So in other words...
Money should help to bury his racist past?
A Wahlberg checks in
Must. Resist. Urge to. Move.
Apostrophe. Gaaah!
Yeah,
it is like me saying "I love Fall River", my late grandmothers last residence was in Fall River (rest her soul) but I'm from Norwood.
And, yes, I would never call myself a Fall River.
So...the 'triple decker' is named after a house.
Who knew?
Wahlburgers aint even that
Wahlburgers aint even that good.
Well...
Joe Thornton might have learned a thing or two...
Attention scumbag techno
Attention scumbag techno-libertarian overlords of Silicon Valley. If you're into mediocre hamburgers and blinding Vietnamese men while yelling racial slurs, well boy howdy do we have a restaurant for you! For a limited time, get a free order of fries if you can prove that you didn't vaccinate your children.
Try the
please-ex-SPONGE-my record CAKE for dessert!
It's ironic
because I've lived in the Bay Area, and if you get even the *tiniest* speck of their culture wrong (you don't know where something is because you just moved there, you go to the "wrong" place because it's only for tourists, you mispronounce a name or use the "wrong" name for something) they will release the furies on you and tell you to go back to where you came from.
So Southie, just start tweeting at them that you'd love to see Frisco, and all will be fair again.
Ah, the Frisco attack. I
Ah, the Frisco attack. I wonder if Jack Kerouac was trolling the west coast intentionally.
