I suppose there's a reason boston.com has posted a GateHouse video about how great the Newton Tab is. Maybe it's the ads they've wrapped around it.

How did you find this? I
How did you find this? I don't see it linked from the Globe home page or Newton web site. Is it buried on Boston.com somewhere.
Check out
Check out www.boston.com/newton. Rumor has it this is a Globe attempt to go after GateHouse territory while GateHouse is weak...
But the content of this Globe site is taken from other sites, including a piece yesterday that linked directly to the Newton Wicked Local (TAB/GateHouse) site. Is that "legal"?
Illegal hyperlinks?
Sure, links are legal.
As for where I found that video, somebody who knows my interest in the whole Newton issue forwarded the link. Where he found it, I don't know.
Could it also be PR
Could it also be PR solidarity among traditional newspapers?
Or appeasement, as their new venture leverages Newton Tab content?
Or more likely
They've got a skunkworks project/contract with some vendor to pull in local videos and index them and nobody's actually looking at what they're bringing in.
I figured it out. Someone
I figured it out. Someone did a search on the Globe's multimedia search engine -- which scans YouTube and other sources -- for "Newton." (When you click on the link you posted, you'll see the word Newton is already filled in on the search box.)
It's sort of like going to Google and typing Yahoo in the search engine box. You'll find loads of stuff Google wouldn't agree with. Links like "Yahoo! Mail: The best web-based email!"
Boston.com video
You're right, Adam; it's a company called Everyzing. They index and display local videos for us.
