FYI: In 2014 the same guy would advertise his connections to the Senate leadership as a way to advance his career. He was pretty open about selling access. Dirtbag.
Rosenberg should resign. He shows very questionable judgement and conflicts of interest being married to this guy. The Globe implies Rosenberg might have known or even condoned harassment by his partner.
Barney Frank had a long career despite many boyfriends with dubious records of illegal behavior. Reason being Barney wasn't the person engaging in the illegal activity. Bill Bulger is the same deal. He wasn't responsible for his brother's behavior. Stan will be held to the same standard Frank and Bulger were.
I don't like rosenberg very much either. I call a spade a spade, regardless of if they are gay or not. You can still be gay and be a jackass... Rosenberg is one.
The guy's sexual preference is about the only thing not sleazy about this situation. If it was a heterosexual couple and one of the two was advertising their connections to the other it would be just as bad. The reason why Rosenberg is implicated is that there's a real reason to think he knew and didn't stop what was happening.
For a second I thought the headline was about the husband of Therese Murray. And to be honest, I don't know if she was married or not.
Politically, Rosenburg isn't my cup of tea, but I can't give him guilt by association on this. The husband, on the other hand, has always seemed a bit scummy to me, and his sexual orientation is not the reason for that feeling.
If Yvonne Abraham's story is true, the younger person sounds like someone who exploits an elder person's position, power, and wealth for their own pleasure. It's a timeless story, repeated endlessly among people of all gender combinations.
Of course, the elder person is even more responsible— they allowed the entrusted power of their own position to flow into the hands of someone else, who used it to touch people inappropriately on their behalf.
I don't like Rosenberg either. If this creepy episode leads to his resignation, good riddance!
The article states that one of the victims worried that complaining about it would be seen as homophobic.
“I’ve been a staunch advocate and ally of the LGBT community,” he said. “Does it make me a bad ally to be upset about this? It’s a weird position to be in.”
NOO! As a member of the LGBT community, I would like to say that reporting assault does NOT make you a homophobe. It makes you brave.

Wow, this is bad. This is the text book example of abuse of power. Granted Rosenberg wasn't doing the assaulting but you can't tell me he didn't realize his husband pushed boundaries a bit. He was warned before and promised to "put a firewall" between personal and professional life.
He needs to resign. Who else knew and did nothing? This guy was reported yet nothing was done.
Heads need to roll.
I hate to admit it, but to hear a man tell the story so many of us women have told, gives me hope that maybe there is real change in the air.
Let's not forget Deleo has a pretty slimy record, as do all of the recent Speakers.
We really need to reduce the power of that role. Deleo and his lieutenants are about power, not representing the citizens of Mass. This article will make most anyone cringe:
Basically guys are pigs. I mean, I'd like to think I'm not a pig, but sometimes it really seems that the presumption is that a guy is a pig unless he can prove otherwise. The alleged harasser is a guy.
Of course, this guy was also on a power trip, which might have predated meeting the State Senator. Guys with power? That's a recipe for worse piggishness if not somehow kept in check.

Just to confirm

oh i know
Alot of people hop on the 'they are gay too so I must like them too" bandwagon.. just stating that I don't.
Stan is sleazy as is his partner.
Yup

This doesn't just reflect badly on Stan

Rosenberg is nothing more than
a thief and a scumbag who landed a loudmouthed twink that apparently he has to spend a lot of time explaining his actions.Good government at work.
Can't blame this one on toxic masculinity
.
Uh
You know you can be gay and masculine at the same time right?
Yes you can
