Boston Police report arresting three teens - 13, 14 and 16 - on charges they used a sawed-off shotgun to rob a guy who'd met them thinking one of them was going to sell him an iPhone.
Police say the victim had arranged with he thought was a phone purchase over Facebook and arrived at 22 Chipman St. shortly before 8:50 p.m. yesterday with cash to pay for it:
When the victim made contact with the male, the male and two additional suspects demanded to see the money. When the victim demanded to see the phone first, the three suspects brandished what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and ordered the victim to give them all his money. The victim handed over the money and the males fled on foot.
They fled and the victim made his way to the District B-3 station on Blue Hill Avenue. Not long after, police determined they might find the robbers on the third floor of 66 Norfolk St., around the corner from the robbery - which they did. The three, not named because of their age, now face a charge of being delinquent by way of armed robbery with a shotgun, police say.

Feds don’t prosecute Juveniles. They’ll all be indicted except the 13 year old, as youthful offenders.

And ask somebody about your caps-lock key. It seems to be stuck.

When I was 13, I used a squirt gun to shoot invisible ink at my friends. Kids grow up so fast these days.

My dad worked days as a newspaper printer. When I got home from school at 2:45, my mom the homemaker was home. l grew up with a parent in the home. She always used to say "I don't believe in guns."
I've grown up to become a man who owns 0 firearms and has pointed a firearm at a person 0 times. When I was 13, I was into baseball cards and records, not assault weapons.

You seem to be describing a fairly safe and secure home, and you're telling us that this upbringing didn't screw you up?
What is the point of your post?

But what to do about it?
Quite sadly, the rush to punish and publish names and close off all chances of anything but recidivism drowns out what this kid really needs: family assessment and intervention.
If you can't ride herd on them at 13, you won't be able to at older ages unless you learn some skills. This isn't a new problem, either - some of the most notorious gang banging mafiosae got their start as teens who had no accountability at home during an earlier era of oligarchic labor exploitation.

The Boston Police responded to the station to assist the elderly woman. I'm sure they have the information it was in the afternoon I believe on Wednesday.

Maybe I'm overly cynical, but I am suspect of any and all second hand modern electronics sold via Facebook. Wonder what percentage is either stolen property, fraudulent listing, or loaded up with malware/keystroke tracking software?

You know what's right next door to the apartment where the BPD found this sawed-off shotgun and the three idiot kids dumb enough to walk around with it? A daycare. Very nice.
