know whats going on in this area lately? Lot of police activity not being reported by BPD. Last night around 7PM there was a parade of police cars up in the Gallivan Apartments public housing area. I see nothing about it today.
Some guys recently have been filming themselves doing burnouts in their cars around there, smoking out the whole street and leaving rubber tracks.
I have been seeing a lot of younger guys running around back and forth around the neighborhood.
The spot is hot for sure, something goin on....
The NECN article said Norton, which must have been a typo (I don't think there is a Norton St?). Manchester is definitely a side street. Overall, traffic backups are not important information in a report like this. It's like saying "police officers were taken away from fighting crime in other areas of the City to respond to this". Not exactly the same, but that paragraph only serves to create and assign blame.
Insensitive? The shooting was at 5:15am. Presumably the victim made it to a hospital and was being treated well before 6am. How is it insensitive to say that traffic is tied up long afterwards?
IMO american police take way too wide a berth interrupting transportation doing post-accident investigations. The most egregious is shutting down railways for hours after someone is hit by train.

Anyone more "in the know" than me

The police are hiring you
The police are hiring you know
SO many questions!
I hope the guy is doing OK.
Traffic
Their paragraph about "traffic backups" was pretty insensitive. Those are residential side streets.
Except ...
He managed to get himself to Morton, which is not aside street.
