Police: Teen pistol whipped in Dorchester robbery; suspect arrested
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester teenager they say was part of a pair that held up another teen at gunpoint Sunday afternoon - after first firing a shot in his direction and then smacking him in the head with the butt of the gun.
Police say the victim was in the area of Ditson and Leroy streets around 3 p.m. when two other guys came up to him and began to rob him:
During the robbery, one of the suspects who was wearing a red hoody, produced a firearm, demanded the victim’s cell phone, and discharged a round in his direction that did not strike the victim. The victim further stated that the suspect struck him in the forehead with what he believed was the butt of the firearm.
Not long after, police say, officers spotted Tyrese Johnson-Nurse of Dorchester, 18, who matched the victim's description of the guy with the gun, a loaded Hi-Point 380 semi-automatic pistol police say Johnson-Nurse ditched after the robbery.
He was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and attempted armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm and improper storage of a firearm, police say.
