If the players can't be expected to show up for a parade at a specified date and time that minimizes inconvenience for the rest of us, then perhaps team management should reconsider the bloated salaries they are paid.
And given the resources that the City and other agencies have to commit every time this nonsense happens, then it should be the City that decides when the parade is held, not the team or the league.

If memory serves from the 2015 parade, the players' contract only requires them to stick around for three days after the end of the season, which is essentially why the parade that year was on Tuesday and the City frantically tried to clear snow from the parade route.
I don't think team management has much choice about that since it's probably standard as part of the collective bargaining agreement between the NFLPA and the owners. The only factors which have much impact on the salaries are the salary cap and the relative level of demand for a given player's skills (which may include the ability to drive ticket and merchandise sales).

History has shown that when cities plan victory parades, the parades end up happening in other cities. So you know that the city has a plan, just like the City of Philadelphia, who announced their victory parade before the Eagles lost to the Pats in 2005, have a plan. Come 10 PM on Sunday we will hopefully hear all about the plan.
