Police: Man screaming about a train being held tackles and beats MBTA worker at Alewife
Transit Police report arresting a Somerville man they say was busy beating up an MBTA worker on the platform at Alewife this morning until other T workers managed to get him off her.
According to police, Charles Mills, 29, of Somerville, was sitting on a bench around 5:20 a.m. yelling profanities about the train being held when a T worker walked past him:
Suddenly and without provocation Mills got up from the bench and violently attacked a female MBTA employee, who was walking past Mills, throwing her to the platform. Mills then proceeded to assault the victim/employee while straddling her. The victim was able to break free and get up from the platform, Mills then began to throw punches at the victim. At this time several employees came to her aid.
Police report that when officers arrived, Mills was surrounded by the workers, keeping him from escaping. The officers took him to Transit Police headquarters for booking on a charge of assault and battery.
Innocent, etc.

Great teamwork by passengers and employees who saw something and did something. I hope the female employee recovers from this vicious attack.
Somerville has.. Illegal?
Somerville haa... Illegal?
um...
...what?
Oh, I get it
Except the statistics go the other way - people not legally here are vastly LESS likely to commit crimes.
Sorry, but you obviously think that facts are illegal, right?
Err. . .
The only information you got on this guy is he's 29, from Somerville and kinda tan.
"Charles Mills"
Judging from his name, I would say he's from...Somerville.
Straddled her while beating her. Damn. Hope he gets more than a slap on the wrist.
Same here!
This guy deserves to be put behind bars for a long time. Here's hoping that comes into fruition.
Cali East
Massachusetts is the California of the east coast, I expected all you bleeding heart liberals up in arms over a simple statement. As far as punishment, ha nice try how long's his sheet. I can't wait for Howie Carr's article. Now put your Birkenstocks on and tip toe threw the tulips.
Nothing simple about it!
Oh, don't be so modest! There was nothing simple about your earlier masterpiece, which I'll quote here for your reference:
Don't hide your light under a bushel, mudder. Let it shine with all its inherent brilliance.
Not a Mudder Clucker
No, No, Mudder is right. It's important to have alternative facts. Where would our great country be without them.
