Why they look ragged

They are shedding their winter coats, but nobody helps them out with a brush so they get lots of messy hair caught until they can roll it off, rub it off, etc.
Esplanade geese + coyotes

The esplanade paths are lousy with geese and goose-crap. A few of these coyotes might help patrol the place...
Great photo!

For a moment, I thought this was a coyote statue.

Looks like dog boobs, not exactly Wolf Tits tho. (look it up if you want to see some "creative" local graffiti)

Someone needs to introduce the coyotes to the turkeys... then there will be likely less to count on both sides.

Just standing there wondering if a 125lb former bait dog and Mastiff/pit mix was worth it. She thought better of it and scampered off.

I woke to a full moon Howl-a-lujah chorus! It was quite impressive to hear with the windows open and all. I could even hear it over the intense purring coming from my cat, who was wedged between me and the mister.
One time a guy was coming down the street to go into the woods and his dog was going nuts. When he bent down to unleash the beast I told him that probably wasn't a good idea. He started to indignantly whine about his dog's rights like the most entitled off leash types tend to do ... until I pointed out the coyote lurking in the woods ... waiting.
His dog had a potential "playmate" close by that he had not bothered to notice.
Funny how leash enforcement in the Fells, spotty as it is, has resulted in far fewer of those "Lost Dog" signs in the area.

Boston gave a deal to Amazon, not to Acme.

Oracle bought Acme in 2013. You're going to say that's not the same Acme, but if you visit the building (at 100 Crosby Drive in Bedford), you'll find all the conference rooms and facilities are still named Yosemite Sam, Road Runner, etc.

...and I might have to investigate this.
I haven't seen any coyotes in these parts yet, but there are plenty of turkeys and a huge eagle in the area. I'm sure the coyotes are around, too.

That's where iRobot is.
I'm closer to iRobot than to Oracle

And I do occasionally see people testing robots outside. However, I think you're confusing iRobot with Boston Dynamics in Waltham. I wish we had the robot dogs up here.
