Had a great captain. Not sure where to launch, but we were opposite black falcon to about the world trade center and landed 6-8 fish each (no keepers).

He said the herring fry are running out of the Charles and they form bait balls where you see the cormorants and gulls in flocks. The stripers are nearby.

would you eat a striper caught in Boston harbor? know he probably ate at the Mystic Dinner or the Charles Bistro earlier that morning?

Just curious. Also, I am asking about this PRE-APOCALYPSE

I would and have eaten stripers from the Harbor. The water in the Harbor and adjoining waters are actually pretty clean. The sediment, not so much.

There is a risk from mercury in stripers, so the general guidance is to not eat affected species like stripers more than once a month, and not at all if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 6.

I wouldn't be too concerned about PCB contamination from fish though. Bioaccumulation of PCBs occurs in fish organs that people usually throw away (liver).

Anyone have some good spots for fishing from shore? Preferably with some sort of parking in the area? Either Boston area, or North Shore.
TIA!

Our captain said hands down the best shore fishing anywhere. You just need to understand when and where the fish move from the watm west end ocean waters to the colder eastern /bay water.

A bit of a hike, but yeah, I've heard the CCC is a good spot. Know of any parking around there?

But i think there are several parking spots along the way for "scenic overlooks". Just walk down to the water after that.

Was on the harborfront by Codzilla on 4th of July and there were some MONSTERS you could see from the wharf - no fishing zone - but there are some serious beasts out there if you know where to look.
