Comcast Internet outage

Storm knocks out service in Brookline, Roslindale, no doubt points inbetween, but how can you report if your Internet is broken and you don't have, oh, a 'Net-enabled smartphone?

Although we haven't entirely lost service we have had intermittent outages throughout the day. Neither the on-line dashboard nor the tech I e-mailed recognize an issue in East Boston.

I fired them after my internet (and consequently, my home phone) went out, and I went to their office to set up a technician visit, and was told "we can't do that. Borrow somebody's cell phone and call."

I found a nice Motorola digital cable box in the trash near my apartment, and called Comcast to make sure that they didn't still own the box before I used it for parts or something.

They said it was theirs, and they declined to have a technician pick it up, so I decided I'd inherited the task of returning it.

I trekked to the Comcast ofice, and walked up to the bulletproof(?) window inside (which, incidentally, is funny). I said simply that I was returning a cable box that Comcast said on the phone is theirs.

I assumed Comcast would would prefer to just bill the customer for the box with a tidy profit margin, but this Comcast representative didn't have to act like she loathed life and wanted everyone else to as well.

Combastards better not have billed my unknown neighbor for the box after that.
