Cambridge man charged with threatening ICE agents via Twitter

Tweet claiming to offer money to kill ICE agents

A Cambridge man was arrested today on charges he offered $500 to any of his Twitter followers to kill an ICE agent, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports.

An indictment unsealed today charges Brandon Ziobrowski, 33, of Cambridge, with one count of use of interstate and foreign commerce to transmit a threat to injure another person. Ziobrowski was arrested this morning in New York, the US Attorney's office says.

According to the US Attorney's office:

On July 2, 2018, Ziobrowski allegedly tweeted: “I am broke but will scrounge and literally give $500 to anyone who kills an ice agent. @me seriously who else can pledge get in on this let’s make this work.” It is alleged that Ziobrowski’s tweet was designed as a threat to encourage violence and the murder of federal law enforcement agents. At the time of the tweet, Ziobrowski had 448 Twitter followers.

The feds say the solicitation came after earlier tweets in which he'd allegedly threatened to slit John McCain's throat and wished death more generally on ICE agents.

Twitter has suspended his account.

Innocent, etc.

LOL. He's got 448 followers. So, at a buck each, with a 10% discount, he's got it made.
Damn, I'm glad they caught this lunatic. So, what about his followers?

If they did, they are dumber than he is.

The ones who aren't FBI or DHS, that is ...

I'd take the money. Then I'd find an ICE agent and tell him, "Hey, this guy paid me $400.00 to kill you."

Hang on BRB. There's a drone outsi

With all of the rhetoric and anti-ice propaganda out there....I wonder how many of this loser's "friends" actually retweeted this threat.

I thought Cambridge was the bastion of intelligence, peace, and acceptance. Silly me, evidently I was WAY wrong on all counts - the insanity continues and true colors are shining through.

and this is rich - "It is alleged that Ziobrowski’s tweet was designed as a threat to encourage violence and the murder of federal law enforcement agents. Um, do you think?

Now your broke %$$ is "literally" going to federal prison - see ya!

Yeah, this guy’s a dumb dumb. Of course, there aren’t any on your side that I can think of right off the top of my head. Not a one.

A certain demagogue pledged to pay the legal bills if his followers beat people up.

Does that count?

"my side" - that's funny.

By that do you mean the side that doesn't want to harm ICE agents and rant about it online like a complete lunatic? OK, I'll agree there - I'm most definitely on that side.

And by your divisive stance, are you inferring that you ARE by default on this guy's side. Wait, you did call him a "dumb dumb" (I would have gone with "psychotic loser", or just "defendant" like the US Attorney's office ) so who knows.

Either way, keep on looking for any chance to put someone into a category because you disagree with a comment they made.....about a broke, indicted, and violent zero like Mr. Ziobrowski.

Have a super evening?

Nah. But when I hear some bloviating moron carping on about Cambridge yada intellectuals something ( I cannot be fecked to re-read what you posted) I know what I am dealing with. A class A whinebag victimized pathetic Trump sucker. This is what I mean by your side. All you mental cases (dickweed who threatened ICE Agents and yourself) You’re the ones who are really all on the same side.

Sounds like you have some serious anger issues to work through friend. And if you can't be "fecked with?" to read my comments i'll summarize - I never mentioned the President. You took care of that part I was commenting on a lunatic from Cambridge, if your internal mental gymnastics somehow make me the bad guy than so be it.

Also, when entering into an exchange of ideas, try to avoid resorting to insults and name calling when you get angry and go off track - it's not a good look and weakens your point. If you actually have one.

Deep breaths. It's gonna be OK.

This guy is definitely the exception and not the rule as far as people on the left go. Very few people condone violence like this. Sadly, all it takes is one to make the news.

I wonder how many of this loser's "friends" actually retweeted this threat.

No one retweeted it. Two people liked it, which might include whoever reported him, as the "like" option functions as a bookmark on twitter.

So how did I find this out? What tenacious research, what intrepid act of journalism did I perform to discover this?

I googled his name.
Every news report that came up on the first page had a screenshot of the tweet. For example https://www.nbcnews.com/news/crime-courts/boston-area-man-arrested-threa...

Had you done this, you would have answered your own question. Of course, you also would have missed the self-righteous joy of jumping to conclusions that confirm your own bias.

Clearly one person who is crazy on the internet reflects the "true colors" of the 110,000 people who live in Cambridge. You got us.

I thought Cambridge was the bastion of intelligence, peace, and acceptance.

I thought trying to draw conclusions about someone's personality or values based on where he or she lives was laughably idiotic bigotry.

Shouldn't the threat to slit Sen. McCain's throat also be taken seriously?
