Scott Tetreault spotted this unusual goose at Mount Hope Cemetery in Roslindale yesterday.

It's Canada goose not Canadian goose as Scott T called it, unless Scott knows for sure that the goose is Canadian in which case it is a Canadian Canada goose.More likely it was born and bred right here in the USA. And with the strange coloring maybe it's not even a Canada goose.

The Brookline turkeys are known to have cloaking technology to allow them to move unseen among us.

He's spotted similar hybrids before. This one also has orange feet, which (per comments on the previous post) apparently indicates that it's part domestic goose.

I have seen a clutch of hybrids too.
Now all growed up.
Some stayed with their domesticated flock, and I did see a couple with their Canada goose flock.
Slender Canada versus stocky domestic neck is another visible difference.
The acorn test may also reveal a difference, but then again, eating them may be learned behavior, not a preference.
But essentially the takeaway is this:
