Police: New Hampshire man charged with trying to drag girl away from parents near Faneuil Hall

Correction: Post corrected with suspect's actual name.

Boston Police report arresting a man they say first offered to buy a couple's 13-year-old daughter and then, when they refused, grabbed her by the arm and tried to drag her away.

Police say Max Roads Patterson, 20, of Raymond, NH, fled when the girl's father "intervened" in the incident at Congress and North streets around 4:40 p.m.

Police say they found Patterson on Washington Street, near Water Street and arrested him after the girl and her parents IDed him. He is scheduled for arraignment today in Boston Municipal Court on charges of enticement of a child under 16 and attempted kidnapping of a child.

Innocent, etc.

Wow! What a ridiculous event. That man cannot be right in the head. Curious what kind of sentence he'll get.

"Curious whether he'll be convicted, and, if so, of what crime, and what sentence he'll get."

Despite the Cheeto-in-Chief, let's pretend that we still have some understanding of American principles, and aren't just drunks taking a dump in the comments section of a local newspaper.

You're not a judge, but you are publishing and distributing to the public commentary that you have written.

Have you met the internet? I'd say 99% of us Uhub commenters are the cream of the internet crop when it comes to content!

Hopefully, in the unlikely chance she’s on jury duty when this comes to trial, she’ll raise her hand when they ask if she’s formed an opinion on this case.

Honestly, Adam has to note “innocent, etc” as the reporter on this website and as one who knows reporting ethics. The rest of us are shlubs who get to form an opinion.

"Now wait a minute, honey. Let's hear the man out. We don't even know the price he's offering. Young man, we only accept cash, understood?"

If we had a stronger border with nh including a wall this would have never happened. Gun (lax gun laws up there) and sex predators flood down from nh. We need to be smart!

With the tolls they collect on highways south that we inexplicably don't charge out-of-state commuters to drive.

Tax-free retail shopping and fireworks. Try not biting the hand that might feed you.

This guy is an (expletive). That he is is not at all attributable to having been born within boundaries devised by people who have been dead for two centuries. Don't let the cancer of statism* infect how you view others.

*Yes, I know "state" generally means "country" in its usual context. Pipe down.

What shall I ever do without tax free shopping and fireworks! Don't be mean to New Hampshire!

Alcohol is sold in our beloved Commonwealth. You can buy it in what the locals refer to as "package stores," and in some locations you can even drink it at the place of purchase.

Go look up "undercut" and try again.

He'll still be able to get alcohol, but the gist of the text of your comment was that somehow he wouldn't be able to because of the undercutting.

If you drink so much that a 5% difference in price is highly significant, you have a drinking problem.

The joke is that we loose sales tax to them and gain income tax for the sizable percentage of their residents who work in Commonwealth. They might have fewer taxes but we have more jobs. (And far more high paying jobs.)

How much do you need to drink to offset the gas costs vs. tax savings in NH anyway?

Look at how many hardworking entrepreneurs from MA have been lured into drug dealing up in Maine by all the demand from residents up in the Pine Tree State.

This guy's mugshots look like he's a poster child for fetal alcohol syndrome.

I feel bad for his victims, and his actions are his fault (unless an evaluation finds otherwise), but he looks like his mother drank heavily every day while pregnant and that is pretty damn sad.

Mmmmmm, okay could somebody please explain to me what is this blogs platforms are supposed to be about.
The 1st 10 responses there was no mentioned the survivors of this alleged incident and how they might be feeling and what they may be going through. It went the comical way to view what occurred in our city and then found fault in another state I'm so perplexing dumbfounded.

I'm wishing all the survivors of this incident best health and be well.

I'm sure Adam can speak to what "this blogs[sic] platform are[sic] supposed to be about", but what would that have to do with what the commenters say? They open their pie holes and sound off; if you have a problem with it, whine at them, not at Adam.

That's a pretty high horse you're on. Instead of just making a comment about what the survivors are going through, you decided to preface your one sentence about that with a bunch of unrelated commentary about all the unrelated commentary.

Be the change you want to see in the world, buddy.

on which bad things are bad, and good things are good. The only comments allowed on bad things will be "this is bad", and "this is very bad", and "I'm against this", and "down with this sort of thing". For good things, the allowed comments will be "this is good", and "Hooray for this!" and "up with this sort of thing". A few variants on these will be allowed, but not too many.

When a thing is bad, there will be a click box allowing you to register your support for the victims. The more times you click, the better person you are.

The name of my website will be Moral Clarity. I'm sure it will be the most popular site on the Internet, because it will be Good.

Reading these comments ...Boston folks have an inferiority complex. And they take it out on NH

It's just when the best and the brightest of New Hampshire come to town and engage in the New Hampshire custom of buying children, we tend to object. If they want to do the insane things they want to up there, that's fine, but we do things a little differently down here.

Not when we are talking about some loser trying to buy, then snatch a teen girl.

Maybe that makes you feel inferior, coming from New Hampshire.

Who makes the jobs?
Who has the health people?
Who has the great schools?

If you want to see "inferiority complex", may I suggest you look in the mirror?
