Bring your kiddies, bring your wife

But today it was more like Beat the Mets, amirite?

Not last night!

A long time ago, the missus and I went to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Arena to watch my Avalanche play the Islanders. I wore my Nordiques jersey. At one point, some of the fans saw the jersey and started on my for NOT rooting for my team. Their worldview was that every team is okay- as long as it's not the Rangers.

They root for the Mets and against the Yankees. They root for the Islanders (or at least they did before the Brooklyn move) and against the Rangers. Now they've got the Nets so they can turn their backs on the Knicks. That's why LI fans are the best (at least in the Tri-State area.)

Wow, I'm originally from LI. Never heard anyone call it anything other than Nassau Coliseum. I used to love going to Islanders games there as a kid (the fisherman horn when they scored would wreck your hearing for days though). Thanks for the reminder!

If your passions are excited by rooting against another team, that's pretty sad. What a lame existence.

Red Sox fans have almost forgiven the Mets for Game Six.

Almost.

quite the inferiority complex if you are chanting another team's name during a game.
