Boston City Council backs striking hotel workers

The Boston City Council voted unanimously today to support 1,500 striking members of Unite Local 26 in their action against local Marriott hotels, which include the Westin and the Ritz-Carlton. Every councilor rose to voice support for the workers at what they said was one of the world's most profitable hotel chains, with a corporate "core values" statement that includes treating workers well.

They're protesting primarily because of a green initiative to reduce housecleaning and the waste/pollution associated with it.

I assume they'd say that you should stay at one of the many other hotel chains in the city where workers aren't striking? Seems like the obvious option to me, but I guess you felt like that was a real "gotcha" there.
