Medical-marijuana dispensary proposed for Charlestown/Somerville line

The Charlestown Patriot-Bridge reports that former City Councilor Sal LaMattina has organized a community meeting on a proposal by a company called Bloominus to open a marijuana dispensary at 116 Cambridge St., on the other side of I-93 from Sullivan Square.

The session begins at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Top 5 traffic chokepoint for the area, actually probably the worst.

Area of at least two bicyclist deaths in the past few years.

Diesel fumes from trains and I-93.

Fumes from the Edison plant when the wind comes from the north.

Noise from commuter trains, the Orange Line, and I-93.

The smell from the recycling plant just south of Sullivan Square.

The vacant buildings on the southerly side of Cambridge Street.

The pavement that feels like it was carpet bombed by the 8th Air Force.

Yup, this will destroy the area.

I'll own it, I missed it.

I projected the forthcoming whining session onto John.

That there isn't a dispensary opening over on Terminal Street. Easier parking etc...

Maybe too close to the schools / community center? Not sure on the regulations around that, but Downeast Cider was there for awhile.

Because in somerville... a 5 min walk from Sullivan Square on Broadway is Revolutionary Clinics..

So tell me again how this will hurt the area. Oh right.. its Boston, not Somerville so its NIMBY NIMBY NIMBY

A dispensary in the soon to be vacant Charlestown post office, logistically seems to make sense

Most def going to try and make this meeting. They wanna sandwich in between a bar and a liquor store, the arguments against it should be compelling for sure (eye roll). I'll be the guy ranting about democracy.
