Is it just me or does DTX seem to be getting less safe?

Were you not yet born when DTX was actually unsafe?

i think it is safer on the whole. the incidents that due occur are just either worse in severity or are getting more coverage.

i work in the area and have noticed that there are far fewer unsavory characters milling about between 7:30AM and like 6 PM, making the ones who remain a lot more noticeable and easier to avoid (like a crazy guy screaming "fuck all you bitches" over and over again)

"i work in the area and have noticed that there are far fewer unsavory characters milling about between 7:30AM and like 6 PM, "

Then you need to take a stroll down Tremont across from the Common.

But Boston is a city and like all cities, there is crime.

This kind of attitude is not acceptable! I bet you wouldn't appreciate that line if the cops fed that to you responding to your call that your mother got mugged in the driveway." It's the big, bad city, fella - stuff happens!"

Downstairs is so sketchy the T-cops won't go down there they sit in their fancy police cars and do a lot of girl watching.

Are you referring to “upstairs” as the street and “downstairs” as the station?

Believe it or not, there are gay and bi cops.

I'm going out on a limb and saying that the victim knew the attackers. The idea that the same group stole a phone and then magically all turned up in the same place together later on is not plausible. (Not that it makes it OK, the thieves deserve whatever justice the courts dole out.)

Boston Police Officers, thank you for making the arrest. You may not hear it enough, but we're grateful.

Somethings not right here.

Sounds like they all knew each other.

I worked down at DTX in the 80s and 90s. I was at The Parker House, Lafayette Hotel, Mellon Bank, and various other jobs. I knew the area like the back of my hand. When I happen to go down today, I still know the streets but its changed. It has a vitality to it but theres also a lot of sketchy characters that seem to be lingering looking for mischief. I do whatever business I am there for and get on the train to come home.
