Police: During storm, Hyde Park man's car runs off road in Sharon, then he breaks into house and attacks mother of three

Francis

Sharon Police report that at the height of the storm last night, a Hyde Park man crashed into a car at the end of a driveway on Billings Street.

Rather than seek help, police say, Ricardo Francis, 39, broke into the house and attacked a woman in an upstairs bedroom.

Within seconds [of a 911 call at 11:25 p.m.], a patrol officer responded to the scene and encountered an enraged 39 year old male, later identified as Ricardo Francis of Hyde Park in the upstairs bedroom of the home. The officer subdued the suspect at gunpoint and the suspect was eventually arrested and placed into custody. At the time of the incident an adult female and her three school age children were at the residence. The female was assaulted by the suspect and sustained non- life-threatening injuries. The three children were unharmed. At this time there does not appear to be any nexus between the suspect and the victims other than the fact that the suspect’s car ran off the roadway, in the snow and struck a vehicle located at the end of the driveway.

Francis was charged with armed home invasion and other violations, police say.

Innocent, etc.

Extremely lucky police on patrol were able to respond so quickly. In many similar cases, it didn't turn out with a happy ending.

I can only imagine how traumatic it was for the mother and kids. I hope it helps them to know that they aided in their own rescue, rather than just being completely powerless. Psychologically, maybe that helps them recover? I hope so anyway. And thank goodness the police responded so quickly.

He was using a knife during the attack as well (left out of the story).

Total dirtbag.

Hopefully, the judges in Norfolk County won't allow this POS back on the streets of Suffolk County any time soon.

I realize he will most-likely get a slap on the wrist, but one can hope.

Queue the public defender who will claim that Mr. Francis was "injured and confused" because of his accident and would never have committed a crime in his right mental state.

Another dangerous, mentally ill person who should not have been on the streets. Like 99℅ of mass shooters.

This guy needs to be tried for and charged with invading somebody else' property, and assault, and put behind bars for a long time. Inotherwords, taken off the streets for awhile.
