Red Line moves like a snail when those darn signals fail

This morning's pokey Red Line ride is brought to you by faulty signals near Kendall, the MBTA says. And the T wonders why ridership is down, Beth Ann Turnquist writes:

I’ve been sitting on the train for an hour and have heard every excuse so far from, ‘experiencing traffic’, to disabled train ahead, to signal problem. This is why people just drive into town causing road congestion, because it’s better than this.

No matter how early you leave in the morning, the T will make you late.

If it weren't so cold, I would've just walked the hour to work. I only have to go 2 stops, but it took somewhere over 30 minutes.

I imagine Baker will use the 5th leadership change at MBTA as an excuse for his incompetent management of the T, but at some point Baker needs to wake up and start really working and investing in making the t work. Mostly he has just delayed or cancelled projects, or claimed credit for Gibbs Patrick did like ordering new trains. And he wants to raise fares again after refusing more funds from the legislature because he was too overwhelmed overwhelmed with the current level or work at the t?

People were calm and resigned as usual, but this was pretty exasperating on a Monday during rush hour.
