Adam,
I was thinking the same thing this morning when I saw Ray's remarks about her accomodations.
Hypothetically, would he hurt the Mayor or Flaherty more? A lot of Menino's people were Ray people left in City Hall after Ray departed. And Flaherty is expected to do well in South Boston. Would Ray pull from his base.
Could Ray be the unknown/unmentioned candidate everyone was waiting for?
Hmm ...

I didn't really think he was running again, just that it was odd how he's suddenly complaining about Menino after all these years.
But if he did run, Menino would love it: Flynn would take just enough of the Southie/Flaherty vote away to ensure Tom gets into the final against Sam Yoon.
Wasn't Ray Flynn's brother

Wasn't Ray Flynn's brother in charge of the maintenance division at Fire Dept.headquarters awhile back?
Could he be running his mouth to head off something pointing back to his own brother? hhhmmm
He should go back to Vatican City.

It occurred to me that Ray was trying to audition for "pit bull" status on the Flaherty for Mayor campaign.
That'd work

Ray gets to land all the body blows while Mike rolls his sleeves up a little bit and come off all statesman like and deny any association with the former mayor, who just coincidentally has come out of hibernation after all these years.
If Flynn brought Law to Justice ...

Maybe then he'd have a shot at his old job. Then again, he never cared much for tedious details of being mayor like, oh, working streetlamps and trash cleanup on the streets.
