Classic car on Congress

Fancy old car on Congress Street

Roving UHub photographer Christine Beaton spotted this Chitty Chitty Bang Bangish car (without wings or Dick van Dyke, though) perched outside Metro Cafe on Congress Street today. That's not all that far from where the Fort Point Channel seal was spotted yesterday. What will tomorrow bring?

Aston Martin Lagonda, I'm guessing 1935-1936.

Seen them on TV in old british costume dramas, but never in real life...

not sure of year but I'm sure the horns mounted at the front could help narrow it down. I sent a pic of it from the front as well - can't attach though. Very similar to this:

It's a 70s VW Beetle Kit car. Only the finest fiberglass used! You can tell by the ball joint torsion beam front end and the VW type 1 steering box.
Looks cool though.

Sorry guys, its a VW Beetle with a retro body kit!

Its retro, too.

You there, fill her with petroleum distillate and revulcanize my tires, posthaste!

Gadzooks , shades of Bette's Rolls Royce . It's deja vu all over again !
