Tim West reports the rains held off long enough for Parkway in Motion's 22,000-egg scrum at the West Roxbury Education Complex's fields this morning.
Roslindale had moved its hunt indoors based on today's forecast.

Pretty cute!
Pretty cute!
Political correctness
A local JP historic house no longer calls their Easter Egg Hunt an Easter Egg Hunt. It is a an eggspectaclur or something along those lines. The president of the non-profit explicitly stated it is not "politically correct" to call an Egg Hunt an Easter Egg Hunt.
Absurd, especially for a place based on the fact that its existence is based upon its history.
Easter Eggs are an ancient tradition. Possibly existing before Christianity. But after nearly 2,000 years they are effectively a Christian tradition. To deny that is to deny history. A historic organization violates its basic reason to exist by denying history.
Just as I will still call a Christmas Tree a Christmas Tree.
But what does using words that relate to Christian history mean when used by a person who doesn't believe in the Trinity or much of the mythology of Christianity? It means that I still respect the reality of the past, instead of pretending that I know better.
The president of this organization is concerned that people who don't feel particularly connected to Christian liturgy will feel put off. Doubtful. Or that anyone Jewish will feel put off and so not attend.
Denying history is to live with the worst of the present. Don the Con proves that point. Anyone who paid attention to the conmen that preceded Don the Con would have immediately smelled his stink. To paraphrase a famous quote, Blowing history away guarantees we will repeat it.
Take a deep breath. Good Lord
The post was about a cute photo of kids having fun at an annual Easter Egg Hunt. And you had to go and take it completely off the rails. Wowza.
Can any anything not involve "don the con"
Get a life.
Thanks for your comment.
Now go outside and hunt some Easter Eggs.
Nuke this from the sky
I feel a warning coming on...
Yeah, whatever.
Easter egg hunts, like Christmas trees, pre-date christianity by a lot. Christians found it was easier to go along with what the people were already doing and claim new reasons why they were doing it than it was to stop them. Renaming an ancient practice to fit current mores is history.
