Let's stamp this in our minds
$35 million into state coffers for not being convicted of a crime. The real mafia got its nut today. I expect every Bay Stater to stomp their feet for the next decade if a pothole persists for more than a week.
Alternate take: Giant corp lies, gets caught and punished
A giant corp with lawyers who should know better lied either directly or by omission to the licensing board in order to obtain a lucrative and very rare special case license. Similar body on other side of country levied a similar fine for similar actions. I don't see a big problem with this. Maybe next time corporate officers weigh the costs of a coverup, they'll err a little more on the truth side, in order to save shareholder dollars.

The state should spend more time going after big corporations. Wynn knew the restrictions when they submitted the application. This wasn't some Mom & Pop running a small business.

I mean, they don't come from the license tree. Government decided that they would be rare.
This wasn't a problem until government made it one. Both Wynn and the state are trash. One isn't not trash to the exclusion of the other.

$35 million is such a paltry amount in comparison to even a single year of earning potential that casino has. I'm sure they are more than happy to pay it. Also, I'd love to see an allocation plan for that fine. Where does it go? What is it used for?

Transit. MassDOT was banking on a Wynn rejection (1-2 Yr Delay)
If Wynn was denied, the state would have been forced to open up the license process, leading to another 1-2 year delay and a mothballed tower. Now MassDOT has to scramble. They didn't put in place an adequate road & rail structure to accommodate 20,000 to 25,000 new daily trips per day north of Sullivan Sq. They were banking on a June 2021 start date for the casino. The start date is now June 2019. And to compound the issue, they recently devoted 1 billion for a CR line (South Coast Rail) that will result in a mere 500 new trips per day and another 1 billion to a trolley line (Green Line X) that will result in only 1200 new trips per day (excludes passengers who will shift from existing T services)

This sends a strong message to future casino bidders and any other company doing business with Mass- lie, cheat and do whatever it takes to get approval. The state is too weak politically to stand up to corporations. Whats the benefit of honesty? Wynn already benefited from approval financially as a stockholder.

Folks in Vegas, (regular folk and the media) are baffled why Mass is being so hard-ass about this issue. I think you are really drinking the kool aide if you think Mass actually cared about the sexual issues with Mr Wynn. They just wanted to soothe voters and get a few more $$ to cover their asses.
