Citizen complaint of the day: You think you can handle the tooth?

A tooth

A concerned citizen has a question for 311 about a find on West 3rd Street in South Boston:

Found what appears to be human in tact molars in front of my apartment while walking my dog. Is this something of concern?

Definitely, a great opening scene for a mystery novel or screenplay.

"...human in tact molars..."

"Tact" is a word. "Intact" is a different word (that's the one you meant). "In tact" (two words) is not a thing... at least, it would be hard to find a correct use of that phrase.

Didn't Catherine Greig just get out? She had a dental background.

I used to have a sandwich baggy with my 4 wisdom and 1 molar in it. I kept them, cleaned them. Dunno, liked taking them out, studying them. Fascinated me. Lost them when moving. I'm sure I'm not the only person who saves their extracted teeth.
