Man tries to do a good deed at BU convenience store, gets stabbed in the arm

Boston Police report a man who stopped to give some change to a man in a wheelchair at the City Convenience store, 702 Commonwealth Ave. early this morning got stabbed in the arm by another man.

Police say the man with the knife, who had entered the store with the man in the wheelchair and a woman shortly before 2:50 a.m., "became verbally aggressive toward the victim" before taking out the knife and plunging it into the victim's arm. The victim made it to 23 Bay State Rd., several blocks away, near Charlesgate, before calling 911.

Police say that, based on the victim's description, they and State Police began searching the area. A trooper found the stabber on Massachusetts Avenue, just past Boylston Street, police say.

Vincent Norwood, 44, of Roxbury, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say.

From an assault arrest in 2010. Obviously not 100% sure it's the same person, but the person's age and aggressive scumminess of the crimes matches pretty closely.

"Norwood, who... has an "extensive criminal history" in New Hampshire and in Massachusetts
