if you try hard enough, you can find a whey.

Allstar Sandwich Bar in Inman Sq has pretty good poutine, if that's what you're looking for.

If it's actually served warm.

Wegmans for sure. I've seen them a few other places as well - I swear I saw them recently in a more local supermarket chain - Star/Shaw's, or Stop & Shop, or maybe Market Basket. But definitely at Wegmans.

Best cheese curds I've ever had are from the NY state fair (which probably ended yesterday).

Wegman's has great upstate NY foods - try some of their various "hot dogs" too - like speedies etc. MMMMMM MMMMM good! white ones, red ones - lots of good "crunchy" dogs.

The best I have experienced would squeak when you chew them. Has anyone experienced this from any of the sources mentioned?

I've only ever seen them in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I guess I'll have to give the Wegmans ones a try.
We can't find Colby cheese around here, either. We have Colby Jack, which is not the same.

Get them up in Vermont at the factory. Sound like a mouse invasion in your mouth. Their cousin Tillamook has the best but you can't get there from here.

Wegman's def has them.

Wegman's carry's Yancy's Fancy brand:

Available at stop and shop in east broadway south Boston. Ellsworth natural cheddar cheese curds

Deep Ellum has poutine That would make a vegan cry

Doesn't Buffalo Wild Wings have something called cheese curds?

Market Basket and Trader Joe's both carry cheese curds.

1. Take the Silver Line to Logan (or the Blue Line, or a cab, or Uber, or whatever).

2. Buy a ticket to Minneapolis.

3. In Minneapolis, get on the Blue Line towards Downtown.

4. Change at 46th for the 74 bus.

5. Get off at Hamline, walk south a couple of doors to the Nook. Known for their burgers, they have good cheese curds too.

(There's probably somewhere closer to the airport, too. Maybe also close to MKE, but there are fewer direct flights there.)

Milwaukee , get your cheese hat and curds everywhere you look

It's FAIR time!!!

that milk I left in the back of my fridge?

I mourned the loss of cheese curds for years after moving to this area from Wisconsin. Not just fresh ones (the few grocery finds generally aren't fresh enough to be worthwhile), but also the fried curds you'd find at practically every bar in Wisconsin. Imagine my surprise when suddenly my regular, several-times-a-week bar added them to their menu one day. So try Parlor Sports in Inman Square for fried cheese curds. Not quite the real deal—they're described as "mozzarella cheese curds"—but close enough to a taste of Wisconsin.
