When Dana Hersey came down from the Movie Loft
By adamg on Mon, 03/02/2009 - 1:51pm
Here he is introducing a colorized episode from a Channel 38 "Twilight Zone" marathon (here he is back up in the Loft) - also features WBCN DJs doing various ridiculous things and a New England Telephone ad (back in the days when they actually advertised how you could call anywhere in eastern Mass. for five minutes for just a dollar - after 5 p.m.):

What's Hersey up to these days?
What's Hersey up to these days, anyways? Does he do anything other than VO work?
And "We Don't Knock" was awesome!
WRKO
Hersey is a staff announcer at WRKO, I believe. At least, his voice appears in much of the continuity.

My little brother
watched "Ask the Manager" religiously. He would say the manager had all the answers. My brother believed that the fact that every week without fail, the manager would have to answer the same question about the Three Stooges being cancelled, proved that there was order in the universe. Now he has a 3 million dollar house on the water in Marblehead, and I live in a 2 bedroom apt in Belmont. Got it? Good.
WBCN DJ
Is the DJ in that ad Mark Parenteau? "Mark"
He was off the air before I was a teenager but I remember the story. He was busted for kiddie porn or somethin'.
Parenteau
GREAT dj, but was busted and sent up for a couple of years for having sex with 14-year-olds. The other guy in the 'BCN ad is Ken Shelton.
The three of them (Laquidara, Shelton & Parenteau) were the absolute top shelf of stoned-out "underground radio" back in the '70s and '80s.
Couldn't they have gotten him a big mattress?
That BCN promo wasn't exactly Charles Laquidara's finest moment, now, was it? Hoo boy!
We're the one for you New England...
I still sing that one every now and then. Ahhh, sweet nostalgia.
Did we ever find out what Jill did that was so horrible?
It's been two years! Well, more like 20 years now!
Boyfriend from the wrong side of the tracks
But two years later, they've showed everyone their love is real, and they're doing OK.
They've already got two computers in their den alone. Mark sobered up and is working as a photographer, getting royalties on popular B&W poster prints. And you know Jill's got a career too, 'cause it's clear he's not keeping her around for her housekeeping skills.
