King tide? More like emperor tide in Dorchester

Dot Malone surveyed the waterfront and flooding in Neponset Circle and at Tenean Beach at high tide this afternoon.
In the morning, DCR warned flooding could shut Morrissey Boulevard, but, of course, it only takes a princeling tide, or even just a spilled cup of coffee, for that.

Morrisey Boulevard
Morrisey was closed for about 2 1/2 hours in both directions. And not surprisingly traffic on Dot Ave and Freeport St backed up and was a complete clusterfxxx. Complete closures and lane closures have in fact become a common occurrence on Morrisey Blvd. But the idiot in the White House says it's all a hoax.
Tomorrow is going to be worse
In fact, a number of local NGOs are signing people up to document this in a fairly scientific way, encouraging people to document impacts around the area.
They are particularly interested in the Malden/Everett/Chelsea area, along with East Boston.
If you take photos of tidal flooding, please install the MyCoast app and upload your photos. This is a serious attempt to document the extent of tidal flooding over time, which is literally on the rise.

Malden?
I’m surprised to see Malden on the list of tidal flooding. Do you know which part of the city is their concern?

Although Malden does extend to an area along Rumney Marsh, where it borders Revere and Saugus. The Pines River flows from inland to the marsh.

I like Boston, but I'm out of here after my kids are grown up. All the biotechs and finance firms will abandon the city when the assessments for ocean rise start getting severe and there won't be anyone left to pay for seawalls but the residents. The rich will sit out in Brookline, Newton and beyond and make encouraging progressive noises while voting against meaningful funding out of their own taxes. Federal money will not be coming for the coastal blue states either, while the grasping farmers of Iowa and Nebraska will keep getting millions in handouts to offset failed trade policies of the GOP.
And the ocean will keep coming.

Swamps
I don't suppose anyone has thought about the fact that ninety percent of Boston is filled tidal swamps.
Its not like its a secret.
Consult the map room at the Boston Public Library(Copley).
Evidence that pre-dates the birth of this country and even before the birth of the BadOrangeMan should be enough of a clue as to why tidal flooding is now and has always been a reason not to build in flood prone areas.
Just more evidence that if the dinosaurs had ridden bicycles instead of suvs,we would be in paradise instead of floods...
