Chelsea continues to have state's highest coronavirus rate - by far

The state Department of Public Heatlh today began releasing town-by-town Covid-19 numbers. Even with what might still be considered relatively low testing numbers, Chelsea is showing an infection rate of 1,890 cases per 100,000 people, based on 712 cases and a population of around 40,000.
That rate is 55% higher than the rate in the community with the second highest rate - Brockton, with a rate of about 1,223 cases per 100,000 people - and 101% higher than Boston's rate of 663.2 cases per 100,000 residents. The state does not break down Boston's numbers by neighborhood, but Boston Public Health Commission figures do show variations between each neighborhood.

Accessible Data?
Where did you get that xls file? Did you generate it yourself?
If you did, thanks, but...
I'm so frustrated with the inaccessible nature in which our government (local, county, state, and country, {world?}) has been making data available.

Went to Market Basket today .. but since I was outside for a while, I walked to Dunkin Donuts in Bellingham Square for coffee N a treat (its been a while). MassDPH or CPH is out in the middle of the square giving tests right there.
I almost went and got one myself... Although I have no reason to suspect.

Without data on testing per 100k the raw numbers are going to be misleading.
Williamstown is 4th on that list and it's rural and very wealthy. It's the opposite of Chelsea in every way.

More to my point
You need to see what percentage of the total population was tested, what percentage is positive, what's the hospitalization rate, etc. Just comparing total cases from one town to another is deceptive.
Towns with good testing will appear as hotspots.
And...
...where hotspots exist, testing happens.
Williamstown doesn't just have a senior home, it has an OUTBREAK in a senior home. So does Pittsfield. So does Greenfield. To my knowledge, community testing is virtually nonexistent in all those places.
Bellingham Square is antibody
Bellingham Square is antibody tests only and you don't get your results. It's part of a research program to find how widespread it is/was.
Any Chelsea residents with symptoms can either go to MGH Chelsea or Beth Israel Chelsea and get tested. You just need a doctor's referral and if you don't have one they will assist. For MGH you can just walk in but they encourage an appointment. BI is by appointment drive through only. Chelsea residents only... From what I understand they are requesting some sort of proof like an ID passport or even junk mail.
