We here in Eastie are super excited to welcome this establishment to our stable of liquor stores and vape shops.

its almost like someone in our government doesn't want pot shops in Boston? hmmm
zero
Still zero rec shops in the city of Boston that are easily accessible on the T (not counting NETA which is in Brookline). When is there gonna be one in (for example) Back Bay?
Yep
Anyone heard anything about Andrea Cabral's shop at North Station? The mayor said it would be the first one opening, scheduled for last November?
10 minute walk from Maverick station
Or, take the 116 or 117 bus from Maverick. These are pretty frequent.

As a frequent rider in the past of the 116 and 117 , by the time they roll into East Boston they are already congested. They don't need lots of outsiders clammering to get to this shop , especially now. It's also not terribly convenient to most parts of the city.
Cities and towns need to speed this thing up. I voted against all this because of what we are seeing now. I thought if we went legal the guidelines should have been better thought out and roll out should have been better coordinated. This slow roll out is just crushing the smaller groups and can't possibly be good for the diversity everyone claims to want in the process. Many of these openings have only been a circus because they are opening to a very slow pace.
To be fair
To be fair the body overseeing this, the Cannabis Control Commission, was filled with appointees from politicians who actively opposed the law. Totally not a conflict of interest or anything...
Who was supposed to fill the
Who was supposed to fill the slots??? The executive branches in the state were against it but it's also their job to fill in the positions.
I don't think it's a conflict but it's a dissapointment. I believe government officials need to put their own personal beliefs aside and follow through with mandates like this.
Almost like they're
Smoking the reefers in the licensing and hoops department.
