State Police shut I-93 north in Dorchester this morning so the Patriots could have an easier time getting from Gillette to the airport.

A 3-minute closure causes problems for more than 3 minutes. How long did it take the jam to clear?
I dont disagree

But 3 minutes is not comparable to 2 hr.'s and 15 min.

I'm sure this was much more structured and less of a safety hazard than having thousands of human bodies standing in the middle of the highway during rush hour.

I was in Foxboro at about 9:45am the week the Dolphins played at Gillette. The Miami buses received a state police escort down 95 and off to the stadium. I'm guessing this happens every week when the Pats play at home. A) Is this really necessary? and B) I hope the NFL is paying for the overtime.

The college & pro teams also get an arrival escort as well- the college teams also travel with a local/ state cop from their area as well- which is 1 difference between the NFL and college

Shame on the state police for shutting down the highways for a bunch of pampered players who play in the National Felons League.

What we know.
The owner of the Patriots visited a massage parlor which was located in a strip mall. Reminds me of the upstairs stress relief businesses in Chinatown that can include, I assume at a higher cost, a happy ending.
The Patriots company can afford it's own jet.
The short lived excitement of men pretending to war with each other is highly prized while basic civil and criminal justice is well, they're nice ideas but not worth spending more than a nominal amount of money toward guarranteeing these fundamental human rights.
Roman citizens were placated with bread and circuses while suffering was everywhere. Seems that many of us are still pretty much living the same way. The technology and amount of blood letting is different. But the values are the same.
Reminds me of the Star Trek episode when the Enterprise crew visits a planet where ancient Rome continued to the present of television. Maybe ancient Rome is still here, albeit different technology.

The police are tools of the rich. Same with the military. Trump has peaceful protestors attacked so he can have a photo op. This patriots thing is a smaller example but still pretty gross.

The Patriots don't need or deserve special escorts and closures to facilitate getting to the airport for their cushy charter to an away game - they could just get up early enough to take care of business (including Covid screening) like the rest of us.

Special escorts and the like should be reserved for important things - like Doug Mirabelli.

if one gets the drift. There are some State Police, or police, generally who are vicious thugs, and there are police, generally, and State Police who are decent people who care about others. Generalizing is never a good thing, really.

...MA State police has stolen millions of dollars from the taxpayers of the state through a fake overtime scheme, and needs to be completely overhauled. In general, everyone in charge needs to be removed. In general all individual officers responsible need to be fired and forced to pay restitution.

If people are so concerned about roads being jammed or blocked, then we should probably cancel the Boston Marathon, and certainly not have a red sox game on the same day. Maybe someone can weigh in on how this didn't cause delays getting injured the day of the marathon bombing? What if there had been twice as many bombs? How could ambulances have handled those casualties?
There is this joke of an idea that a peaceful protest or sports motorcade is somehow equivocated with terrible traffic that blocks ambulances from saving someone's grandpa from a heart attack or the cops rushing to catch a crazy murderer or a fire engine rushing to safe a building full of orphans being waylaid by traffic. Before the pandemic, we called that A WEEKDAY. Ever drive to the Cape between June - Sept on a Sat or Sunday?
A random protest or a third rate sports team isn't going to do much besides allow people on both sides to bitch.
Also, I'm guessing the dude who only goes to the dealer but doesn't trust small shops is...a little racist. But that's just me. We used to go to Urb Chambers for our Honda when we had a coupon or for the recall, but they are generally disorganized and hacky and overpriced so after the first year, went to our local shop for everything but recalls.
Well.....

The Boston Marathon was cancelled for this year, as was the annual St. Patricks Day parade down in Southie, for a damned good reason: The Covid-19 pandemic.

about the I-93 shut down, is about something that took place over 5 years ago.
Forward to more recently, however, if you drive on the Southeast Expressway, and it's smooth sailing, it's a matter of luck, because it's always been crowded most of the time.

Not long ago, many of those same Boston motorists would have proudly volunteered to carry the Patriots buses on their backs to Logan. Now they are angry that the police briefly halted traffic for the team? At some point, this incident will be featured as a footnote in the timeline on the death of professional sports. Just reading today that our once beloved Red Sox NESN ratings down over 50%! NBA finals with far-left LeBron down 68%. If the local NFL franchise, the winner of six Superbowl Championships in the last 19 years, is criticized by its own fans for a momentary traffic delay, that can't bode well for the future of professional sports. Go woke, go broke?

I'm having a real good laugh trying to figure out exactly what manufactured issue has your butt hurt this time. Looks like "all of them"? Other people don't like sports enough and this is a problem for you in your little cabbage patch, really?
