The Boston Police Patrolmen's Association today called on its members to boycott a Lower Mills taco place whenever a particular bartender is on duty because of the way she tangled with cops while protesting white supremacists in Copley Square over the weekend. Only problem: She hasn't worked there since 2018.
In a tweet, the union said it objects to the woman's Instagram post about the Copley Square protest and counter-protest and said they should avoid Yellow Door Tacos, which also has an outlet in the South End and which is co-owned by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, at least when she is on duty:
To be clear, we’re not looking to bully or boycott anybody. But, @yellowdoortaco should know that we like our martinis served with dignity and respect. As such, we’ll be encouraging our members to think twice before spending any of their money on any of Ms. O’Grady’s concoctions. pic.twitter.com/Ad5ReMpIZd
— Boston Police Patrolmen's Association (BPPA) (@BostonPatrolmen) October 20, 2020
In a statement, though, Yellow Door says:
The individual identified in the tweet has not been an employee of Yellow Door Taqueria since 2018. We have no further comment.
BPD detectives, who are trained to research people's backgrounds, have their own union and do not belong to the BPPA.

But we're also ass-on-fire desperate to bully or boycott somebody, and we really don't even care if it's the right person.
What makes me laugh in all this?

It's the fact that those morons from Super Happy Jerkoffs are laughing their asses off at the controversy that they created and was enhanced by them, the cops and the counter protesters.
Again.
So, you're take on it...

Got it.

That's not how I read that. I read it as the repercussions/fallout we're dealing with are a part of their goals: make taxpayers spend as much money as possible. And as this one is spinning out of control past the one day, their goal seems to have been met.
Really?

"...and was enhanced by them, the cops and the counter protesters." So what's your solution? Should the communities attacked by this group stay quietly at home?
No.

Brian is merely pointing out those guys are getting off on any reaction.
I don't have a solution except for jerks like the Stupid Happy Idiots to go by the way of the dodo.
Your beef is not with me.

And he finds this hilarious, apparently.
NO SHIT they're "getting off on any reaction". That's what bullies do. Sideline-sitting preachy people blather worthless platitudes at people who are the bullies' targets, but contrary to sideline-sitter opinions, they don't just go away if you ignore them. Oppressed communities understand that. Upstanders understand that. Bystanders...point and laugh, like it's all just there to amuse them.
Uh, did you know that

They may be that

but they’re also 3 of the biggest goofs I’ve ever met. Three weeks ago they had a Kyle Rittenhouse rally in NH. 6 people showed up. So what does Hugo do?
He throws another right wing pity party in the town where he knows a bunch of social media obsessed protesters will show up and give him the attention he doesn’t get sitting in a dispatcher’s cage 5 days a week at Green Cab.
And for what?

Some serious sickos in Boston cops

I've heard long term police are getting sick of the hassles they are getting. Apparently they believe that like their cowardly lion in D.C. they are above the law. Now that the heat is on them to act as equals instead of legal thugs they are whining and quitting.
Courage is needed to deal with bad guys. But is a different courage is needed to be humble. Good police are humble; bad police are not.

and I suggest you guys call tomorrow when they open. The phone number is 617-635-4500.
This is the second time in recent weeks they've pulled this BS. They got a kid who worked at a hardware store in Allston fired a few weeks ago because they thought he oinked at them.
This is beyond the pale though. They used OUR tax dollars to investigate someone who was exercising her first amendment rights to dox and use targeted harassment against her and an innocent place of business because they THOUGHT she still worked there. Not only was this woman, beaten, maced and groped by these "public servants" but they since they couldn't arrest her for expressing her first amendment rights they decided they would find another way to "punish" her for using her voice.
Not only that but the goddamned Trumpers in this state are racist af and the cops siccing them on a woman of color and a Mexican restaurant opens up a whole NEW set of problems that the cops - who are supposed to STOP people from harassing strangers - are actively encouraging it.
This is absolutely despicable behavior and we should demand better of the people we entrust to be police in this city.
I look forward to calling...

This is totally unprofessional. Police are taxpayer-funded public servants. The job is to enforce the law, not harass citizens for perfectly legal and constitutionally protected speech. If they can't be objective and impartial then they are in the wrong line of work. I'm fine with unions collectively bargaining for fair wages and work/life balance, but discipline and accountability should not be up for negotiation.
On the one hand

every minute the BPPA chucklefucks spend having slap-fights on Twitter is one minute they can't spend raping kids or beating protestors. And they handled this one so comically badly that they basically just gift-wrapped the lawsuit this poor woman is going to win against the city. They screwed it up so badly that even FISH isn't in here offering to carry their jockstraps. Hell, they screwed it up so badly that an enterprising DA could probably hit them with a RICO charge.
On the other hand, this poor woman has probably had her life destroyed in the short term. Businesses would fear reprisal from the cops for hiring her, and I'll bet you anything she's getting harassed by cops on the regular. Does she have a GoFundMe or something?

But she allegedly spit in a black cops face so she isn’t getting anything from anyone (that means the VS white women from West Roxbury). This union has lawyers up the ying yang and are basically untouchable.
Funny

Funny the union doesn’t mention any spitting (this event happened 2 days ago) and this rumor surfaced pretty much only here *after* the BPPA humiliates itself and its members.
To resurrect and old internet adage, pics or it didn’t happen.

By tblade
Tue, 10/20/2020 - 8:15pm
Of course I don’t know some anonymous police officer who, according to an anonymous internet commenter, allegedly had his face spit in...until all of a sudden the story changed to “it wasn’t *real* spitting, just saliva spewed from yellingâ€.
But O’Grady is wearing a mask in the photo. And cops are wearing masks in the photo. But we should just accept the convenient timing and story changing of this “alleged†(your word) incident happening to this totally-not-make-believe officer?
I mean if there is one thing that 2020 has taught us, it’s that cops never lie to justify/cover up their own bad behavior.

Lesson is you can believe what you want. Your anonymous so you opinion is as worthless as mine. The woman “protesting†white supremacy yelling at police Officer was not. That’s her choice.

What does this even mean?
I will guess you mean that she “was not†wearing a mask. But she was. There is a picture in this very post provided by the BPPA of O’Grady wearing a mask.
Do you have photos that suggest otherwise? Again, pics or it didn’t happen.

I generally prefer my tacos from places like Taqeuria El Amigo, Rincon Mexicano, Taqueria Jalisco, La Victoria, Angela's Cafe, et. al., with Mexican ex-pat chefs in the kitchen and $3 a taco.
I haven't been to the Yellow Door yet in either Lower Mills or the South End, but have admired their chef in previous stints (she was the opening chef at haley.henry, for one.) Its tacos are $5-$6 a pop, with options like duck or scallops.
